The artist has handed over the full amount of his twenty-five thousand pound honor cash to the Music Venues Trust, which operates to preserve the UK's independent music venues.

Fender was awarded the cheque on October 16 as his latest record the album was named the top album of the past year.

He has chosen to give the cash to the trust, in recognition of the essential function small stages fulfilled in his beginning days.

"I would not have achieved what I am doing today if it weren't for all the shows I performed around the region, and elsewhere, when I was just getting going," stated Fender. "These spaces are renowned, but they are facing challenges."

Beginning in 2023, at least 150 of these spaces have ceased operations – about 16 percent of the whole industry in the UK.

Over the past year, major artists like Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Sheeran have all supported the trust in its efforts to help venues survive, by adding a minor surcharge to their ticket costs, which benefits smaller concert halls.

Sam Fender also joined in, raising in excess of £100,000 on his recent tour to support 38 local spots across Britain.

The money helped spaces that were dealing with potential shutdown due to difficulties stemming from floods, blazes and personal losses, as well as licensing issues, conflicts and neighbor objections.

Other venues received financial assistance in modernizing infrastructure and gear that directly benefitted artists and concertgoers.

"The concept that money from shows in big venues helps the independent spots, where it all starts for musicians like me, is just logical," the star has said.

Fender is not the first artist to contribute his honor funds to charitable organizations.

Back when Pulp won the award in the year 1996 for their album the album, vocalist Cocker stated that the band would contribute their cash to the organization War Child.

In 2002, musician the artist split her award across multiple organizations, such as the NSPCC and a charity for Sickle Cell.

"I also gave a grand to Highgate Newtown, to their gymnastics class, because I practiced gymnastics when I was younger and they lacked updated gear," Ms Dynamite shared with a publication.

In recent years, they donated their winnings to the youth organization that developed their group, in addition to other local music groups.

And winners that year the group donated their prize to a charity for MS after a close contact was identified with the condition.

"The victory was quite enough," said vocalist Heather Small. "The cash was the cherry on top but we didn't need the cherry, because we had the main prize. So our success affected another person's life."

In the past week, the MVT revealed it had rescued several grassroots venues in south-east England, by placing them under community ownership.

The first in the city and the other in Bristol were purchased under the public acquisition program, which is funded by Arts Council England and music fans who acquire "shares" in the buildings.
